Hire Period
We hire over a 3-day period which allows for the Delivery Day – Event Day – Pick Up Day. So please select the date on which you would like the item to be delivered (or the day you wish to pick it up), not the event date. If you require only one day hire please Get in touch before booking. There is no discount for equipment being hired for a shorter period.
Hire Terms
You are responsible for all the equipment during the hired period and will be liable for any damages. Some of our equipment is subject to being delivered, Set up, and packed down by Mystery Lane only.
Penalty Fees
If you have arranged to pick-up and drop-off the hired items and the items have not been returned by the set date there will be penalty fees. This also applies if mystery lane is unable to get access to collect on the set collection date.
10% per day for the first 3 days and after 3 days this will increase to 30% per day until returned.
Security Bond
Each item in our hire shop has a set security bond which will apply at checkout this amount is non-negotiable. Bonds will be refunded once all equipment has been returned and checked.
Cleaning and Care of equipment
All equipment is checked before being dispatched, picked up, or delivered, and once these are returned, they will be inspected to ensure they are in good order before any bonds are refunded.
Please notify Mystery Lane immediately if there is any damage to any equipment on arrival, and we will do our best to replace the equipment/item.
If any equipment is damaged or broken while on hire, please notify Mystery Lane immediately. Please note that the full replacement value of the equipment/item will be charged to you unless otherwise agreed.
Any equipment with stains or damage that cannot be removed or fixed may be subject to a complete replacement charge/cost.
Cancellation & Refund policy
In the event of a worldwide Pandemic that causes an event booked not to go ahead, Mystery Lane has the right to refuse a refund and instead offer a full credit voucher to the value that the “hirer” has paid, this voucher is valid for 1 year and can be used to book any products or services from Mystery Lane. We advise all customers to give us as much notice as possible if they wish to cancel their existing order with us. If cancellation is made 2 weeks before the hirer’s booking date, not related to circumstances beyond ours or their’s control eg “National Lockdown due to COVID” Mystery Lane, is not responsible or liable to refund back any of the hirer’s money. Out of good faith, we will allow the “hirer” to rehire the same item for a later date, however, we are not responsible to reserve this item for the hirer for a later date if it is already booked or hired out for that desired date.
If it is a special & severe case of cancelling your booking, Mystery Lane will reimburse 50% of the cost via Mystery Lane credit voucher/s. This can be used in the future for any of our services & is valid for 1 year at the time of being issued.
Change of Mind
For any reason if you change your mind and want to cancel your booking and want a full refund it is up to the discretion of Mystery Lane, in general circumstances a credit note will be given or 50% of your refund in no circumstances are they required to offer a full refund back for a change of mind. So please shop carefully.
